Shree Khodiyar Engineering Works

Shree Khodiyar Engineering Works (SKEW) is a Rajkot-based manufacturer of biomass briquetting press machines and pellet machines, helping convert agricultural, industrial, and forestry waste into clean, usable fuel briquettes and pellets. Based in Gujarat’s leading industrial hub, we design, manufacture, and support briquetting plants, small ring die pellet machines, and related machinery — including dryers, hammer mills, and cutters — for customers across India and abroad who are turning biomass waste into a sustainable energy resource.

Our expertise lies in Mechanical Ram-type briquetting press technology. Our three flagship models — SK-6000, SK-7000, and SK-9000 — are engineered to produce briquettes of 60 mm, 70 mm, and 90 mm diameter respectively, each built to run non-stop with a preventive maintenance schedule that minimises unplanned breakdowns.

Our Story: How It All Began

Maheshbhai Vala did not inherit a factory. He started with nothing, and what he had was the trade of his community. The family belongs to the Lohar community, blacksmiths by tradition, and shaping iron with fire, hammer and patience is the work his people have always done.

When he built his first briquetting machine, there was no money to waste on mistakes, so every part was planned carefully and tested until it worked.

Nobody handed him a shortcut. He learned the machine by running it, breaking it, repairing it and improving it, until he understood how every part behaves under load. The workshop, the machines and the trust of customers that Shree Khodiyar has today were all built the same way: by hand, one machine at a time.

Leadership Today

Shree Khodiyar Engineering Works is currently managed by Maheshbhai’s sons, who carry forward the company’s founding values of precision, reliability, and customer trust:

[ Founder ]

Maheshbhai started with nothing and built this company with his own hands. Over in 1998 in the field have given him a depth of knowledge that no textbook can teach: how sawdust and rice husk behave differently under pressure, how a screw or die wears, and what a press sounds like before it needs attention. That knowledge goes into every machine we make.

The 70 mm press (SK-7000) is his own design. He worked out the engineering himself, and one critical part of it, [name of the component: 7000 Machine, is fitted and assembled by his own hands, with every detail checked before the machine moves on. The design Although Shree Khodiyar now has a large team, he has never taken to a formal office.

He works on the shop floor, personally overseeing how each machine is built, and answers customers’ calls and WhatsApp messages from there. When you speak to him about your machine, he is usually standing next to one.

More than 300 machines have left our workshop. We could have built far more, far faster. Maheshbhai chose not to, because a machine that sits idle helps nobody.

For a customer, a briquetting plant is a serious investment, made with money earned the hard way. We know what that means, because we earn ours the same way. That money deserves the right machine, a plant planned properly, and enough raw material to keep it fed.
